About

Laura is a creative director, designer and strategist who works between the UK and South Africa. She offers creative advisory to ambitious organisations and teams who are helping move the world towards more life-giving futures.

Laura is a creative leader with decades of experience in design across museum and event spaces, publications, digital products, services and communications. Her work has enabled others to communicate complexity, tell stories about things that matter, and bring important ideas to life.

She brings curiosity, imagination, a blend of creative, strategic and systemic thinking, an ease with complexity, and a broad, deep design skillset. Laura also curates powerful experiences that help people connect more deeply with their creative potential.

“Laura brings such magic and coherence to any project. She is deeply fluent in complexity, care and strategy alike. She intuitively finds the thrumming heartbeat of a concept, story, team, idea – what the most potent version of it can and wants to be – and helps midwife it into the world with incredible dexterity and creativity. Her mix of skills is truly unique, and the level of mastery she’s developed would be extraordinary in any one of them, let alone in combination. Everything she touches thrives.”

Services

Creative strategy

Blending strategic thinking and creative practices to bring the essence of your idea or work into focus. Translating this into a clear and coherent vision or concept and then developing a strategy or plan to take you from idea to impact.

This could be: reimagining your brand, creating better service experiences or designing interventions for long-term systemic change.

Creative direction

Directing the overall creative process from concept to production to ensure that all elements – design, narrative, visuals, messaging, and outputs – work cohesively to tell a compelling story that aligns with your vision and strategy, and resonates with your audience.

This could take the form of: designing a new brand identity for your organisation, creating a concept for a new offer you have, or producing a series of creative outputs that tell the story of your work.

Creative experiences

Curating powerful, immersive and creative experiences that enable people to learn, create or practice new ways of being together. Drawing from creative exploration, intentional space design, facilitation, sensory engagement, interpretive design and storytelling.

Together we might create: a programme of co-design workshops, the concept or strategy for a large-scale exhibition or museum experience, or a series of curated, intentional gatherings.

“Laura is one of the best design thinking practitioners I’ve worked with. She can work through really complex problems cleanly, without fuss or overblown process and deliver clear, really well-communicated concepts and strategies. She is experienced, knowledgeable and lean. She knows her tools, but also when to use and adapt them – rare but vital for designers. She’s also just really enjoyable to work with. I would highly recommend her.”
